Life Reality Check: 2,000 Weeks Left

Another Sunday, another week slipping by. I recently stumbled upon a perspective that we have, on average, only 4,000 weeks to live. Out of those, I’m already around my 2,000th, a number that feels unsettling when I think about it. Halfway there, yet when I look back, the years seem to have flown by in flashes—so many plans made and so few fully realized.

It’s a strange realization, especially as I’m in the so-called "prime" of my life. The evidence of how little has been accomplished is staring me down, and if I follow the trajectory of my past, what will the next half bring? That’s what unsettles me. Yet, the more I sit with it, the more I sense that life might be, at its core, a series of groundwork-laying chapters rather than peak moments. The “prime” may not be the time when everything is achieved but rather when the stage is set.

If this rings a bell, if you feel the years have moved too fast with little to show, maybe that’s exactly how it’s meant to be. Perhaps life is about learning patience, building a strong foundation, and piecing together countless experiences to shape something meaningful. If all these weeks feel like preparation, they could be leading toward something bigger—a new chapter, an adventure we can’t yet see.

So are we counting down to our last day? 🪦

OR to a grand celebration along the way? 🥳

Where are you in life? How Many Weeks Do You Have Left?

Cheerio!
